Discover Our Legacy In Every Sip
Nestled in the Green Valley AVA of the Russian River Valley, Dutton Estate Winery lies near the quaint town of Sebastopol. Once renowned for its apple orchards, Sebastopol is a hidden gem of Sonoma County’s famed winegrowing and the cherished home of our winery founders, Joe and Tracy Dutton.
Our story is deeply rooted in the rich agricultural history of Sonoma County. Tracy is a fourth generation Sonoma County farmer. Her great-grandparents embarked on this legacy in the 1920s, cultivating apples and raspberries on their family farm in Forestville, known as Kozlowski Farms. This tradition thrived for nearly a century, growing both apples and grapes until 2022.
Joe is a fifth generation Sonoma County farmer, and his story intertwines even deeper with Sonoma’s agricultural heritage. The Dutton’s began farming in Sonoma County in the late 1890’s and Dutton Ranch expanded to growing apples and grapes in the Russian River AVA in 1964. Dutton Ranch spans over 1,200 acres of wine grapes and 300 acres of apples, all within the esteemed Green Valley-Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast appellations.
Today, Dutton Estate Winery is led by the sixth generation of Dutton women and sisters, Kyndall Dutton, our winemaker, Kylie Dutton, and Karmen Dutton. The “Sisters” are mentored by the stewardship of their parents, Joe and Tracy, with the steadfast mission to pursue forward with the legacy of agriculture and winemaking, taking immense pride in passing on our agricultural traditions and crafting wine from our nurtured land to ensure sustainability for our next Dutton generation.
We are the sixth generation of the Dutton’s to farm in Sonoma County. When we founded Dutton Estate Winery in 1995, we continued a multi-generational family legacy and commitment to our distinctive corner of the Russian River Valley through making wine.
